Adrienne D. Davis

Vice Provost

Adrienne holds appointments as Vice Provost, William M. Van Cleve Professor in the Law School, and inaugural Director of the University’s Center for the Study of Race, Ethnicity & Equity. Adrienne’s administrative duties include consulting and collaborating with Washington University’s schools on their academic diversity and inclusion goals and developing the academic pipeline with an emphasis on diversity in STEM and national partnerships.  Her office works closely with the six Danforth campus schools on faculty hiring and designing best practices for faculty development and  advancement.  Her office also coordinates a suite of faculty leadership and climate initiatives and programs. As a faculty member, Adrienne’s research and teaching focuses on private law areas such as contracts and trusts & estates, as well as legal theory and history, including slavery, feminist legal theory, and theories of justice and reparations.
