Brianna is a Molecular Cell Biology PhD student with research interest in the intersection of genetic diseases and neurodegeneration. She received her BA in Chemistry, BS in Psychology from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 2021. She became involved in research during her undergraduate career within the fields of Neuropsychology and Cognitive Neuroscience, where she focused answering questions about episodic memory retrieval as well as characterizing phenotypes of early treated phenylketonuria. Desiring to dig deeper into the biological mechanisms underlying different genetic diseases, she pursued a post-baccalaureate research experience with the Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine Post-Baccalaureate Program at WashU. Brianna is passionate about expanding scientific understanding through ground breaking research, as well as fostering the next generation of scientists and leaders to make science more accessible.
