Carmen Azevedo

Cancer Biology | Entering class of 2022

Carmen Azevedo is a PhD student in the Department of Biology and Biomedical Sciences in the cancer biology program. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2015 with a degree in biochemistry where she played varsity field hockey and did both analytical chemistry research and French translation work. Carmen then worked as a radiochemist in the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Facility and a molecular imaging research lab at Stanford University for several years. Her preclinical and clinical research in the molecular imaging field inspired her to pursue a PhD in cancer biology where she hopes to develop imaging probes for the detection of cancer.
