Kyria Brown is a doctoral student in social work at the Brown School.  For the past decade, she worked as a birth doula, primarily with low-income and rural women. She focused her five years of research experience on mothering and street-involved women. Ms. Brown acquired dual master’s degrees in social work and public health at both the University of Denver and the University of Colorado-Anschutz. Her research interests include reducing birth-related trauma and health disparities for street-involved women through doula use.
