Phylicia Allen

Phylicia Allen was received a Bachelor’s of Social Work from Saginaw Valley State University. After receiving a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Michigan in 2013, she worked as an external program evaluator, faculty search coordinator, and most recently as the Project Manager of a scholars program that focuses on preparing MSW students for work in African American communities. Her dissertation illuminates lived experiences of Black women in doctoral programs with an emphasis on mental and physical health as well as engagement and disengagement coping.
