Payton Landes

As an MFA candidate in Illustration and Visual Culture at Sam Fox School, Payton Landes hopes to foster community wellness through visual arts. After completing undergraduate studies in Physics and Studio Art at Colorado College, he worked as a harm reductionist committed to preventing HIV and overdose in Denver. Beyond this direct service, he uses printmaking to communicate public health messaging, support mutual aid efforts, and reveal the violence hidden in our social order. Payton hopes to leave this program having integrated his political organizing into his artistic production, and join the many artists working towards a just future in St. Louis and beyond.
