Every four years, we survey WashU full-time and voting faculty, to better understand faculty work life, climate, workload, sources of stress, mentoring, and characteristics of life outside the institution. The most recent wave of this survey was completed during the winter of 2019-20. The current administration launched on Thursday, November 30, 2023, and closed on January 22, 2024.
The survey instruments and reports from recent administrations can be found here:

This survey is confidential but not anonymous. The Institutional Research and Analysis (IR&A) team in the Office of the Provost takes great care in protecting the privacy of all faculty who participate in this survey. Only the IR&A team will know if you responded to the survey and have access to your survey data. It will not be shared with any other individuals or units.
Survey results will be presented in the aggregate. The IR&A team will use a minimum sample size in numeric reporting and no personally identifiable information will be attached to any comments reported to leadership. Comments will be classified broadly for large groups (e.g., by school).
These reports are intended for the use of WashU administrators and faculty, for the purpose of institutional improvement. They are not intended for use in any work that meets the federal definition of research.
